Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares an easy and straightforward techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and geography. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and food from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied after earning an English degree and a Communications diploma from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." It was difficult to master, do or work enough. After graduation, chef Burrell spent a period of time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she grew to truly appreciate and understand the philosophies behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that left a lasting impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of struggling children. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of young diabetics. She talks about her culinary passion and shares her experiences in the food world when she is in the United States for both her roles as mentors and speakers. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be able to share her passion for life with others.
