Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mixture. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs Sunshine has performed all over the world. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing in the church. Her musical career began in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. She was appointed as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
